IT Systems Engineer
We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer to join our growing team.
Based on our wonderful offices in Barcelona or Malta, the chosen candidate will play a vital role in configuring, maintaining, and overseeing our company's array of IT resources, including networks, servers, workstations, printers, and cloud services. Your primary responsibility will involve guaranteeing the seamless functionality and optimal performance of our network and associated equipment to cater to the needs of all system users. This will also include the integration and management of any cloud or private cloud services, as needed.
What will you be doing?
Design, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure including desktops, peripherals, operating systems, standard and custom desktop applications in accordance with the change management process, industry and security best practices.
Ensure minimum downtime and optimal performance through proactive planning, tuning, troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and monitoring.
Ensure the stable operation, availability, reliability, and serviceability of the company's IT services, workstations, networks, and cloud environments.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various platforms and applications.
Implement and manage system backups, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Ensure systems comply with security policies, data privacy regulations, and industry best practices.
Maintain and update the IT asset register, ensuring accurate records of all hardware, software, and licensing information.
Use and manage the internal ticketing system to track, prioritize, and resolve support requests in a timely manner.
Assist in nurturing a culture of data and network security within our organisation.
Collaborate with third party contractors to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Provide orientation and training to end-users for all systems.
Act as a first line support to end-users.
Who are you?
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in administration of systems, networks, and cloud providers.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant IT field.
Industry certifications in ITIL, and relevant field such as cloud providers, network, and hardware vendors are considered a must.
Strong working knowledge of operating systems including Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
Demonstrable experience with cloud provisioning, identity management, integrations.
Configuring, monitoring, and maintaining networks and end user devices. Exposure to remote management solutions is a plus.
First-hand experience in centralised security tools, including, and not limited to patch management, anti-malware, file services, and device management solutions.
Solid knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including knowledge of security, storage, data protection and disaster recovery protocols.
